Episode #130 - Secret Wars & Beyond #36


Marvel's Secret Wars & Beyond is be a monthly show where Sean, Greg, and Doctor G will read & review Marvel's 1984 series Secret Wars as well as the sequels and connected issues.

With Secret Wars II firmly behind us we are now looking to the next iteration of the the Secret Wars title. To this end we will be reading an reviewing the Jonathan Hickman run of Secret Wars from 2015

In this episode, Sean and Dr. G delve deeper into the newly formed Battleworld with issue 4 "The Second Offense". Join us as glimpse the return of the heroes of 616 universe to this strange new realm of Battleworld.

  1. Those are my favorite Cyclops stories as well. I have one addition not from the comics. X-Men: Evolution S3E5, Blind Alley. Scott is kidnapped by Mystique and left in a desert without his visor or glasses. This is right in line with your "hero versus nature" comment, and it's excellent.

    On a different front, when Cyclophoenix is tearing Doom apart, I immediately thought of MSHSW #10, with Doom trying to fight The Beyonder and basically gets dissected. There's a big visual parallel between these scenes, so that has to be intentional by Hickman. Great stuff!
